Chocolate Mug Cake

I recently discovered Mug Cakes and I can’t seem to get enough of them. I’ m sure they have been doing their rounds for a long time but it’s my new thing now. I love baking, well, cooking generally, but there’s just something awesome about mixing together ingredients and seeing them turn into something delectable and sweet! My love for Chocolate is also another long story, so when I am able to mix my two loves, baking and chocolate, them magic is sure to happen. Mug Cakes are just so simple and literally takes minutes and you have your dessert. Cheers to my first ever Mug Cakes and many more bakes.

4 Tablespoons Self Raising Flour
2 Tablespoons Cocoa Powder
4 Tablespoons Caster Sugar
3 Tablespoons Milk
1 Egg
3 Tablespoons Melted Butter
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
Pinch Salt
5 Drops Vanilla Essence

-Mix the Self Raising Flour and Sugar in a bowl. You are supposed to mix in the Mug that will be used to bake the cake but I didn’t want to make a mess with mixing the ingredients. If you have a really big mug you can mix inside it.
-Add the Cocoa Powder
-Add the baking powder in case you did not have the Self Raising flour, add also the sprinkle of salt and mix the dry ingredients well
-Add your Milk to the dry ingredients
-Add the melted Margarine/Vegetable oil to the mixture
-Pour a few drops of the Vanilla essence or whichever essence you chose to use for the recipe
-Finally add the beaten egg to the mixture and mix well until incorporated. When mixing fold in the mixture instead of just mixing it in, this way you will have a very airy and light mixture
-Pour your chocolate batter mixture into a Microwave Safe Glass mug
Cook in the microwave until the cake is done in the middle. This is 1 minute 45 seconds
-Remove and let it cool
Prep time: 15 mins
Cook time: 2 mins
Total time: 20 mins
Yield: 1 Serving
